Westminster Lodge is a fantastic pool of the old school variety! 33m long with a gentley sloping bottom before a steep drop off to the diving pit. Mst games are played full length of the pool to the drop off. The shallow end has anti-slip tiles but the rest are fast and smooth. The pit provides good width ways training depths of 3.5 metres deep ... ideal to practice before Sheffield competitions. Unfortunately in their wisdom to promote swimming and watersports to the wider community the City of St. Albans have decided the sizeable population of this City are not befitting of such a grand pool and that they would be better off reducing the facilites and build a short 25m pool and replace a good tiled bottom with a plastic bottomed one. Enjoy this pool while you can ... it won't be long before it's gone!

25m pool in length but 8 lanes wide. The pool management who are fantastic have now allowed us to use the width of the pool giving us a fantastic playing area with an almost flat bottom at a constant depth of around 2m. Fast tiles and a wide playing area make this a fantastic pool to play in.
