Octopush E-News Bulletin 123

Final details for
BOA Nautilus Competition 5th/6th January 2008.

Dear membership.

All final details for this coming BOA Nautilus Competition have now been completed.

You will need to click on the links below to down load all the information you require.

The ‘Team/Captains Brief for Nautilus 2007/8 season’ link will give you all the competitions details from registration, game timings, pool layout, competition rules, any team requirements and which teams will be taking part.

This document is very important as there will not be any Captains brief on the day; therefore you must ensure you have read it, followed the brief and ensure that all your players are aware of the information. This is your Captain brief. All so there are some very important changes to this years’ competition within the brief. SO PLEASE READ AND DIGEST!

The ‘Nautilus 2007-8 Schedule’ link will give you the days schedule and playing times for all teams.

The ‘Nautilus 2007/8 Season Team Registration Form’ link is your team registration form, to be completed and returned to me as per Teams/Captain brief. Everyone’s BOA number will be the same as their number on their membership card from last year. New BOA members please leave that field blank.

Please ensure you have read and printed of all the above links. You can also access these documents if you log on to the BOA web site and look in the documents folder.

As discussed previously with the continued drive to improve the BOA competitions for all, there will be some changes to this year’s event:-
  • At this event we will be using in water subbing from the side of the playing court, as per the 2006 World Championships, rather than the historical out of water end of pool subbing. Full details on how this will work will be detailed in the captain’s brief.
  • All players within their teams will be required to have their own individual cap numbers. No player within a team will be able to compete if they have the same cap number of another player in their team. This is to help in improve refereeing, also we now intend to record and publish stats on goals scored and infringements etc along with match results. The BOA shop will be stocking extra hats, please ensure your players don’t leave until the day of the game to get the correct number as the shop may not be able to ensure sufficient stock on the day.
  • Referees will now be inspecting players UWH equipment prior to each game, to ensure all kit is legal. So please ensure all your team equipment (sticks, etc) is legal. No one will be allowed to compete with any equipment the referees have considered not up to standard. If players need to renew kit don’t leave until the day of the competition as the BOA shop may not have enough stock on the day. Details on how this will be managed will be in the captain’s brief.
  • If you have any further questions on the three items above please refer to the BOA chief referee, Rob Liscoe at referee@gbuwh.co.uk plus your can go to his brief via the following link Refereeing Nautilus 2007/8
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Look forward to seeing you all in January 2008.

Many thanks

Alun Mitchell (Mitch)
BOA Competitions Manager.
