Chair

Welcome to all.

Firstly, a thanks to all our helpers for the juniors.  They are regularly complimented by parents:  Junior coaches Kevin, Jen, Helen, Steph, Ed (we will miss him), Seb and Diana

Tournaments all included juniors on our team:
Nautilus – half our team was under 20

Freya and Lorna were included in the 2023 qualifiers

Barbipush – Thanks to Sheena and Ellie for organising last year

Socials.  A good turnout at Prawle last year with lots of sun and a wild sea.
Annual xmas dinner after the session was well attended

Thanks to Fred and Sheena for the costume design and organising

WhatsApp group still working well for planning teams and advising on last minute issues.

A new team generating tool has been prepared by Keith.

Treasurer

Kevin showed a spreadsheet for the accounts 2023-2024

The club is running at a loss currently so the fees must go up.  Currently the juniors don’t pay for the Wednesday dive pit sessions and don’t pay for their BOA membership - which was charged in the past so is to be reconsidered. Juniors also don’t pay for the extra attendance in the adult session and they now form a significant proportion of the game. General payment terms for all are to be urgently considered – other clubs have a monthly subscription that does not vary by attendance so is more reliable and encourages people to turn up.  Action on Committee.

Lido fees are again up and we need to consider whether it is viable before committing.

The contact form is now on the website with committee member access for NOK if required.  No need for separate forms/ lists.

Proposal to keep the summer to 1 hour with no coaching but space for juniors to play.

Secretary

We have the following membership:

  • Standard 19 (was 25)

  • Student and Junior 33 (was 25)

  • Associate 25 (mostly parents)

  • Non-playing members 1

Total playing 47 (was 50)     small reduction again but note the lean towards juniors paying significantly less to play

Note that some people rarely attend the sessions.  The club needs adults to run in the longer term.
