Mouthguard fitting

How to fit an external mouthguard to your snorkel, without ruining it.

BEFORE YOU CUT

Take it slow

There are lots of different snorkel designs, so think carefully before you cut. Remember to cut away less than you think you need; you can always take more off, but it's hard to glue anything back on.

Note: the flatter part of the mouthguard should be at the top. The pink snorkel in the photos is actually upside down.

EXTRA TIP

Cable tie option

Sometimes a cable tie can be useful to secure the mouthguard in place. Make sure there are no sharp edges after trimming the excess. For the snorkel pictured, two small holes were drilled in the mouthguard to thread the cable tie through.
