A Fantastic Day of Competition at the 2025 British National Championships

The 2025 British National Championships took place this weekend at the ever-popular Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield — and what a fantastic day of underwater hockey it was!

This year’s Nationals saw 16 teams from across the country come together to compete for the prestigious title of British National Champions. Over the course of a packed day of play, 48 games were contested, with some thrilling matches, impressive performances, and plenty of goals scored.

By the end of the day, we were proud to crown a brand new National Championship-winning team — and for the first time, it was Team South West who lifted the trophy. 🏆


National Championship Division

The competition in the top division was fierce, with some very close games right through the day. Team South West’s consistent form saw them progress all the way to the final, where they secured their first-ever National Championship victory — a huge achievement for the team.

1️⃣ Team South West A
2️⃣ Yorkshire A
3️⃣ West Wickham A
4️⃣ Southsea A
5️⃣ Manchester A
6️⃣ Dunstable
7️⃣ West London A
8️⃣ Yorkshire B

Top Division Goal Scorers:

  • Ben Morgan (Yorkshire A) – 7 goals

  • Tom Milner (Southsea A) – 7 goals


Plate Division

There was also plenty of action in the Plate Division, with exciting games and some great team performances. The standout match of the day in this division was undoubtedly the bronze medal game between West London B and Bristol, which had spectators on the edge of their seats.

It was also a great day for Team South West’s B team, who topped the Plate Division — meaning both TSW teams went home with gold medals on the day. 🥇
