The 2026 BOA National Finals brought together the best underwater hockey clubs from across the UK for a fantastic weekend of competition, community, and celebration at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
With three divisions, 24 teams, and approximately 260 players competing across the weekend, the event showcased the incredible depth of talent within UK underwater hockey. Players, coaches, referees, officials, volunteers, and supporters came together to create a memorable championship weekend.
Championship Division – Division 1
The Championship Division saw eight of the UK's top teams compete for the National title, with Yorkshire A taking first place and securing their first ever BOA National Championship victory.

Congratulations to Yorkshire A, who made history by winning their first ever BOA National Championship title. Their achievement reflects the continued growth and strength of the club, with Yorkshire also celebrating an outstanding overall weekend across all divisions.
All three Yorkshire teams finished on the podium, with Yorkshire B securing second place in Division 2 and Yorkshire C taking first place in Division 3. A remarkable achievement across the competition.

Celebrating Outstanding Performances
The weekend produced many memorable moments, showcasing the skill, determination, and excitement that makes underwater hockey such a unique sport.
One standout moment came during the Championship Division, when West London produced a crucial penalty save against Southsea, demonstrating the high-pressure moments and competitive spirit on display throughout the tournament.
Yorkshire also enjoyed a remarkable achievement by taking home all three MVP awards:

The BOA National Finals would not be possible without the dedication of the volunteers who gave their time before, during, and after the event. From preparing the venue and supporting teams, to officiating matches and helping with the final clear-up, every contribution played an important role in making the weekend a success.
A huge thank you also goes to all players, coaches, referees, officials, and supporters who travelled to Sheffield and helped create such a positive atmosphere throughout the competition.
