If you have a question regarding a medical condition and the suitability to participate in Underwater Hockey, the BOA utilises the services of Dr. Tim Fitzsimons. Tim is an Underwater Hockey Player, experienced Scuba Diver, and a medical referee with the UK Diving Medical Council, he has advised on Diving, Apnea and Underwater Hockey, to contact him in confidence please email:


DBS Checks - These are available at no cost to members who are involved in club committee roles, coaching and refereeing activities, please email and request a form.  As DBS certifictes are a legal document they are provided as a hard copy. The BOA will accept a scan/image, including certificates from an employer or other volunteer role as long as it is dated within the last three years, please send to 

Update Service, this allows organisations such as the BOA to check the status of your DBS via a government portal. Once you received your DBS certificate, visit you have 28 days to apply and there is no cost to volunteers.
