Successful results for the G.B Squad on their return from the CMAS European Championships
The 12th CMAS European Underwater Hockey Championships recently took place in Istanbul, Turkey. This was the first time Turkey has hosted an international underwater hockey tournament and was achieved with great success.
The tournament produced fantastic results for Great Britain with the G.B Ladies Elite convincingly winning the gold medal, the first gold medal ever for G.B Ladies Elite. The Men’s Elite just missed out on the gold medal after a grueling final match against Turkey to come away with the silver medal.

The tournament was extremely well run by the Turkish Underwater Federation and a number of CMAS representatives spent the week at the pool in Istanbul supporting the event. This was the first time that teams from the Czech Republic and Portugal have competed at International level.
The next CMAS competition is the World games, to be held in Spain, Hungry Tunisia or Croatia in July 2009.

A brilliant achievement, well done to you all.
